On the 31st of May, Tuesday, India registered 2,338 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
Furthermore, besides new cases, the nation registered 19 fatalities with over 2,000 recoveries. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 3,63,883 sample tests for the Wuhan virus. With this, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Indian Health Department conducted over 85 crore tests for the Wuhan virus.
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said with the new cases, India has 4,31,58,087 positive cases, of which 17,883 are active cases, 5,24,630 are deceased and 4,26,15,574 are recovered/discharged cases.
According to the Union Ministry, active cases comprise 0.04% of the total infections, the fatality rate stood at 1.22% and the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74%.
Meanwhile, the total number of vaccine doses administered in the country under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive exceeded 193.45 crores till date.
