On the 3rd of December, India recorded 35,551 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

With the new cases reported in the past 24 hours, the nation surged to a total of 9.5 million cases of COVID-19 infection.

The new cases were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry and the data is available on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

Besides 35,551 new cases, India reported 526 fatalities and 40,726 recovery/discharged cases.

Till the 3rd of December, India has 9,534,964 COVID-19 positive cases, of which, 8,973,373 are recovered/discharged cases, 4,22,943 are active cases and 1,38,648 deceased cases.

With the aforementioned figures, India is the second worst hit COVID-19 nation with 9,534,964 cases. The first worst COVID-19 hit nation is the United States of America (U.S.A.,) with nearly 11 million cases.

Though India is the second worst COVID-19 hit nation, the active caseload is just 4.51 % whereas recovery rate is 94 % and fatality rate is below 1.45 %.

In addition, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed a total of 14,35,57,647 samples testtested for COVID-19 infection till date. In the past 24 hours India conducted as many as 11,11,698 sample tests for COVID-19.
