Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and owner of the famous spices brand, MDH (Mahashian Di Hatti,) passed away on the 3rd of December.
Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, 97 years old, passed away in New Delhi due to cardiac arrest.
Popular in every Indian house, the MDH owner was undergoing treatment at Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Delhi for the last three weeks.
According to the sources, Mr. Gulati’s health condition started deteriorating on the night of the 2nd of December, resulting in his death on the 3rd of December. He took his last breath at 5:38 A.M., on the 3rd of December.
Mahashay Gulati was born in 1923 in present day Pakistan’s Sialkot, where his father had set up a small shop.
However, after partition in 1947, his family moved to Delhi, in India.
Later In 1953, Mr. Gulati rented a shop in Chandni Chowk and named it Mahashian Di Hatti (MDH.)
From a small shop in Karol Bagh, ‘Mahashay’ Dharampal Gulati built MDH as one of India’s leading spices brands.
