India’s COVID-19 Cases On Rise, Reports 56,211 New Cases In 24 Hours

The daily Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases are on a rise in India. The Nation is witnessing a second wave of the COVID-19 with 56,211 new cases. 

In addition to new cases, India reported 271 fatalities and 37,028 recoveries.

The COVID-19 update was given by the Union Health Ministry at 8:00 A.M., on the 30th of March.

With this, the Nation has 12,095,855 COVID-19 cases, of those 5,40,720 are active cases, 11,393,021 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,62,114 deceased cases. The COVID-19 cases update of India is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

With this, India has 4.33 % active cases rate 94.32 % recovery rate.

Ten states – Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Haryana and Rajasthan are showing a rise in COVID-19 cases. Of those, 8 states including Maharashtra, Karnataka and Punjab have reported a high number of daily COVID-19 cases and accounted for nearly 85 % of the fresh cases.

On the other hand, the total vaccination coverage in India has crossed 6 crores so far. The Nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive started from the 16th of January.

In addition, the Government of India (GoI) also allowed citizens above 45 years of age to take two India made COVID-19 vaccines. The announced development in the ongoing vaccination drive would be in effect from the 1st of April.
