On the 15th of May, Ashim Banerjee, the younger brother of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, passed away due to the Wuhan Virus illness.
He was diagnosed with the virus nearly a month before and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal.
After a month of treatment he took his last breath on the morning of Saturday (the 15th of May.)
Dr Alok Roy, Chairman of the Medica Superspeciality Hospital, released a statement and confirmed the demise of Ashim Banerjee due to the Wuhan Virus.

The death toll rose to 12,993 after 136 more people died in the past 24 hours. Concerned to the current situation, the West Bengal Government decided to impose a complete lockdown in the State.
The lockdown, which they call partial lockdown with strict restrictions would begin from the 16th of May and would continue till the 30th of May.
