The Prime Minister of India is all set to roll out the Pradhan Mantri Digital Health Mission (PMDHM) across India.
According to sources, on the 27th of September, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, would announce the mission across India. Under the Pradhan Mantri Digital Health Mission, a unique digital health ID would be generated for individuals, containing all their health records.
Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, took to Twitter and said,” PM @NarendraModi ji to announce a nationwide rollout of Pradhan Mantri Digital Health Mission on September 27.
Under this, a unique digital health ID will be provided to the people, which will contain all the health records of the person.”
The unique health ID would be created with the individual’s Aadhaar Card and registered phone number. All the data recorded by the individual would be safe with a wide range of data, information and infrastructure services. The initiative is also a step aiming for the Digital India– in the health sector, reducing the burden on people like paper records, on spot appointments instead of standing in long queues and developing the healthcare sector with pharmacy, and telemedicines digitally. The digital approach would also ensure privacy and confidentiality of patients and doctors with better digital access.
It is to be noted, the PM-DHM is currently in its pilot phase across the union territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, Ladakh, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
Soon, the mission would be wide spread across India, providing digital healthcare facilities to the people of the nation.
