The Telangana Health Department on the night of the 29th of December, released a media bulletin, updating the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
According to the media bulletin, the State reported 474 new COVID-19 cases. Of the total new cases, the highest number were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) 102, followed by 49 from Rangareddy, 45 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 29 from Karimnagar, 18 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 14 each from Sangareddy, Mancherial and Siddipet.
The remaining cases were, 11 each from Khammam and Nalgonda, 10 each from Suryapet and Peddapalli, 9 each from Yadadri Bhongir, Mahabubabad and Jagtial, 8 each from Adilabad, Vikarabad, 7 each from Medak, Mulugu and Wanaparthy, 6 each from Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubnagar, Rajanna Sircilla and Warangal Rural, 5 each from Komarambheem Asifabad, Nagarkurnool and Nirmal, 4 from Kamareddy and 1 from Narayanpet.
Jogulamba Gadwal district of Telangana reported zero cases.
With 474 fresh Coronavirus positive cases, the State recorded 4 deaths and 592 recovered/discharged cases of COVID-19
With the aforementioned data, Telangana has 2,85,939 positive cases, of which 2,78,523 are recovered/discharged cases, 5,878 active cases and 1,518 are deceased cases.
In addition, between Monday and Tuesday (the 28th of December and 29th of December) the Telangana Health Department conducted 45,590 tests, which include 20,059 on primary contacts and 5,470 on secondary contacts.
The remaining were conducted in several private and government laboratories as per prescription.
Of the total tests conducted in the past 24 hours, 474 samples tested positive and the reports of 715 are pending.
Till the 30th of December, the State conducted 68,39,281 tests for the Novel Coronavirus infection.
Beside cases of COVID-19, Telangana is also one of the states to report cases of COVID-19 with the new variant.
In the past 24 hours, of the total 20 cases with the new COVID-19 strain, 3 were reported from Hyderabad hospital.
The Telangana Government is taking all the measures to control the spread of the new mutant strain of the existing COVID-19 infection.
The State Governments, the State Health Department and the State Aviation department are on alert to trace, test and treat all the United Kingdom (U.K.,) returnees in the past two weeks.
However,Etela Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, assured steps to be taken to curb the virus. He also said, so far the State did not report any second wave of the Novel Coronavirus infection.
Mr. Rajender also urged people to follow all the guidelines of the COVID-19 infection and avoid gatherings during New Years celebration.
As of now, the recovery rate of Telangana is at 97 % and fatality rate is below 0.50 %.
