The Telangana Health Department reported 635 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the State.
Of the new cases, the highest numbers were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 115, followed by 57 from Rangareddy, 49 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 39 from Warangal Urban, 35 from Khammam, 30 from Karimnagar, 25 each from Bhadradri Kothagudem and Nalgonda, 19 each from Jagtial and Suryapet, 18 from Mancherial, 17 each from Sangareddy and Siddipet, 15 from Peddapalli, 12 each from Mahabubnagar, Mulugu, Vikarabad, Warangal Rural and Yadadri Bhongir, 11 each from Adilabad, Jangaon, Nizamabad, 9 from Medak, 8 each from Mahabubabad and Nagarkurnool, 7 each from Rajanna Sircilla and Wanaparthy, 6 each from Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Kamareddy, 4 each from Komarambheem Asifabad and Nirmal, 3 from Jogulamba Gadwal.
The updates of COVID-19 are given by a media bulletin released on the 23rd of December.
In addition, Telangana reported 573 new recoveries and 4 deaths.
With the aforementioned updates, the State has 2,82,982 positive cases, of which 6,627 are active cases, 2,74,833 recovered/discharged cases and 1,522 deceased cases.
On the other hand, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 45,600 tests for COVID-19, taking the cumulative total to 65,66,602 tests till the 23rd of December.
Telangana is one of the states with the highest recovery rate of COVID-19 infection.
Telangana has 97.12 % recovery rate and fatality rate stands at 0.53 %.
