Telangana COVID-19 Updates: State Records 894 New Cases With Over 2,000 Recoveries

The Telangana Medical department, on the night of the 16th of August, released a media bulletin regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.

According to the Telangana Health Department’s bulletin, the new Novel Coronavirus cases is below 1,000.

For once after consecutive 13 days, Telangana reported less than 1,000 news cases, which is 894.

Of the total 894 cases, 18 were from Adilabad, 36 from Bhadradri, 394 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation ( GHMC.)

Other places include 61 from Jagtial, 34 from Jangaon, 12 from Bhuplapally, 58 from Gadwal, 31 from Kamareddy, 104 from Karimnagar, 76 from Khammam, 12 from Komarambheem Asifabad, 18 from Mahabubnagar, 14 from Mahabubabad, seven from Mancherial, 36 from Medak, 175 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 13 from Mulugu, 24 from Nagarkurnool, 49 from Nalgonda, five from Narayanpet, 28 from Nirmal, 39 from Nizamabad, 40 from Peddapalli, 90 from Siricilla, 131 from Rangareddy, 81 from Sangareddy, 60 from Siddipet, 33 from Suryapet, 16 from Vikarabad, 26 from Wanaparthy, 41 from Warangal Rural, 101 from Warangal Urban and 15 positive cases from Yadadri Bhongir.

While the new COVID-19 cases stood at 894, recoveries reported in the past 24 hours crossed 2,000 and stood at 2,006.

Meanwhile, fatalities till the night of the 16th of August were 10, taking the total to 703.

With these updates, Telangana has 92,255 positive cases, of which 21,420 are active cases, 70,132 are recovered/discharged cases and 703 deceased.  

Out of the 21,420 patients, 14,404 patients are under home isolation and 7,016 are in institutional care.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Health authorities conducted 20,291 tests till the night of the 16th of August.

Of the total 20,291 tests, COVID-19 results of 421 samples are pending.

So far 70,53, 349 samples have been tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection in Telangana.

With the everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases, the recovery rate in Telangana is now 76.01% from the previous 72.70 %.

In addition, mortality rate is 0.76 % from the previous 0.80%.

The growth rate of the Novel Coronavirus is 2.10 % from the previous 2.60 %.

Meanwhile, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, urged the Central Government to increase medical facilities for better treatment for the Novel Coronavirus.

The State Government also set up a helpline centre for COVID-19 situations.
