Telangana is the only South Indian state reporting below 1,000 single day cases of the deadly Wuhan virus, also known as the Nobel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
With the efforts of the Telangana Government and constant review of COVID-19 situation, for the fifth consecutive day, the State reported below 500 cases. In the past 24 hours, the Telugu State registered 357 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death and 405 recoveries.
With this, Telangana now has 6,56,455 positive cases, of which 6,295 are active cases, 6,46,344 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,865 are deceased.
On the evening of the 26th of August, the Telangana Health Department released the media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 81,193 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.42 crores (2,42,66,647) till date.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (96) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (33) and Warangal Urban (21.)
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana remained constant at 98.45% for the second day and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past 10 days at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
