After months, Telangana active cases crossed 2,000 mark on the 16th of March. On the night of the 15th of March, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin updating about the COVID-19 situation.
According to the released bulletin, in the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 204 new cases of the virus. In addition, 170 people recovered from the deceased with 2 casualties.
With this, the active cases jumped to 2,015 cases, recovered cases stood at 2,97,851 and death cases at 1,656. Of the total new COVID-19 cases,
37 cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (14,) Rangareddy (12.)
Besides aforementioned districts, 29 districts reported COVID-19 cases in single digits.
For the third time during the last one week, the State logged over 200 cases. The new infections pushed the State’s tally to 3,01,522.
Meanwhile, as per the media bulletin, the State conducted a total of 60,263 tests for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Of these 55,201 samples were tested in government laboratories and remaining 5,062 in private laboratories. With this the number of tests conducted in Telangana is at 92,99,245.

Though Telangana has a recovery rate of 98.78 %, the State Health Minister Eatala Rajender issued an alert. In the wake of the increased cases of COVID-19 in neighbouring states like Maharashtra and Karnataka, the Telangana Government asked the officials to take necessary precautions and curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
The Telangana Health Minister also urged people to follow all the protocols of the COVID-19 infection.
