The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Telangana, crossed 6.51 lakhs. On the evening of the 13th of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updates about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
According to the released bulletin, the State witnessed a total of 427 new cases, 26 cases less compared to the previous day’s single day cases of 453.
Besides the new cases, Telangana reported 2 fatalities and 609 recoveries from the deadly virus. Highlighting the recoveries, compared to previous below 500 recoveries in a day, on the 13th of August, Telangana reported a rise in recovery cases.
With this, Telangana now has 6,51,715 positive cases, of which 7,812 are active cases, 6,40,065 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,837 are deceased.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 87,,509 samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.32 crores till date.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Medchal Malkajgiri, Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (68) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (43) and Rangareddy with 25 cases.
Meanwhile, with a slight fall in the COVID-19 cases, the active containment zones is at 23 from the previous 26 with no micro containment zones in Hyderabad.
The recovery rate of Telangana also improved to 98.21% from the previous 98.18 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic. In addition, a total of 1.61 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Telangana till date.
