On the 6th of May, Telangana reported 6,026 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infections.  Along with 6,026 new cases, the State reported 52 fatalities and 6,551 recoveries/dischaerges from the Novel Coronavirus.

According to sources, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government released a media bulletin, updating about the COVID-19 situation.  The media bulletin was released on the night of the 6th of May, updating facts and figures of the Novel Coronavirus.

As per the media bulletin, the total cases increased to 4,75,748 positive cases, of which 77,127 are active cases, 3,96,042 are recovered/discharged cases and 2,579 are deceased cases.

In addition, the Telangana Health Department conducted a total of 79,824 tests for the Novel Coronavirus in the past 24 hours.  With this, the cumulative total of tests conducted till date stand at 1,33,47,076 l.

In addition, the recovery rate of the COVID-19 infection in State is at 81 % and fatality rate is at 0.54 %.

Meanwhile, on the 5th of May, the Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar briefed about the current situation of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the State.

Informing about the availability of beds for COVID-19 patients, the Telangana CS said they had 18,000 beds in September 2020 but now the number has increased to 52,000 beds.

In addition, the State also helped COVID-19 patients from other regions of India. In the past 15 days, as many as 33 medical air ambulances landed in Hyderabad. In most of the cases, critically ill patients from Delhi and other places were airlifted for treatment in Hyderabad.

After the removal of Eatala Rajender as the Telangana Health Minister, Telangana CS Somesh Kumar and K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana are managing the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
