Telangana Reports 729 New COVID-19 Cases With 6 Deaths In 24 Hours

In the past 24 hours Telangana reported 729 fresh cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) The deadly infection is declining in the Telugu state rapidly, taking active cases below 11,000.

On the 9th of July, the Telangana Health Ministry, released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in the State. As per the media bulletin, Telangana reported 729 new cases, 6 fatalities and 987 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 1.06 lakh (1, 06,045) samples, taking the cumulative total to 1.95 crores till date.

With this, it is also the 11th consecutive day, when the deadly Wuhan virus single day cases were below 1,000. The State is witnessing a fall in the COVID-19 cases under the strict surveillance of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government. The State Police and officials of the TRS Government are leaving no stone unturned to vaccinate people and control the spread of the virus. In addition, so far 1.20 crore people, received their COVID-19 vaccine doses. Of the total population 4 % people are fully vaccinated after receiving both the doses.

Till date, with the strict guidelines and tackling of COVID-19 from 20,000 active cases, the State’s active COVID-19 cases reduced to 11,000 in just a month.

With this, Telangana now has 6,30,514 positive cases, of which 10,942 are active cases, 6,15,852 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,720 are deceased cases.

In Telangana, the regions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the highest number of cases with 72 cases.

With this, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 97. 67 % from the previous 97.60 % recovery rate. In addition, the fatality rate of COVID-19 remains stable at 0.58 %.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 48 containment zones, there are 35 active containment zones in Telangana.  

In addition, the Telangana Director of Health and Public Welfare G. Srinivasa, urged people to take caution and follow all the guidelines of COVID-19. He further released a statement which read, “If symptoms related to Covid-19 are observed, please report to the nearest government health facility and seek the required health services without any delay. People with comorbid conditions are also requested to stay indoors and avoid any kind of travel except for medical care in order to avoid exposure to the virus.”

Meanwhile, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, also expressed concern over the COVID-19 cases in some districts. Despite the declining number of the Wuhan virus cases in Telangana, the Telangana Government is worried about districts bordering Andhra Pradesh. Districts like Nagarjuna Sagar, Miryalaguda, Nakrekal, Suryapet, Khammam, Dornakal, Huzurabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Bellampalli, Godavarikhani, Sircilla and Warangal are showing good number of COVID-19 cases. In regard to this, the Telangana CM directed the concerned officials to conduct a fever survey and ensure controlling Wuhan virus spread.

The directed three days fever survey by the Telangana Medical Department officials would begin from the 11th of July.
