The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus, is continuously under check with every day reported numbering below 400 cases.
On the 7th of September, Telangana reported 298 new cases with two deaths and 325 recoveries. On the evening of Tuesday, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 68,097 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.51 crores till date.
With this, Telangana now has 6,60,142 positive cases, of which 5,476 are active cases, 6,50,778 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,888 are deceased.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (89,) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar with 24 cases.
With the constant efforts of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, the number of COVID-19 cases is under control in the State. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Government controlled the second wave and now is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus.
In addition, with all the precautions taken, the recovery rate of Telangana is 98.58 % from the previous 98.57% and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past 20 days at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
