In the past 24 hours, Telangana recorded below 2,000 new cases of the Wuhan virus also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
Since the past few weeks, the daily cases of the COVID-19 infections have reduced in the State. According to the media health bulletin released on the night of the 15th of June, the State reported 1,556 new cases, 14 deaths and 2,070 recovered/discharged cases.
The cases were reported after the Telangana Medical Department conducted as many as 1,20,043 sample tests for the Wuhan virus infection, taking the cumulative total to more than 1.69 crores samples.
With this, Telangana has 6,06,436 positive cases, of which 19,922 are active cases, 5,82,993 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,510 are deceased cases.
It is to be noted, of all the 33 districts, the regions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have the highest number of COVID-19 cases. In addition, there are 312 active containment zones in Telangana, of which, 11 containment zones are in the GHMC limit, 111 in Nalgonda, 56 in Mahabubabad and 29 in Jagtial.
However, since the lockdown was imposed, the State reported a dip in the daily cases with better recovery. As of now, Telangana has 96.13 % recovery rate and 0.57 % fatality rate.
