For the first time since April 2021, Telangana reported below 500 cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus.  In the past 24 hours Telangana reported 465 fresh Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

On the 11th of July, the Telangana Health Ministry, released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in the State.  As per the media bulletin, Telangana reported 465 new cases, 4 fatalities and 869 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 65,607 samples, taking the cumulative total to 1.97 crores (1, 97,60,171) till date.  Compared to COVID-19 tests held in the past few days, average 1 lakh regularly, yesterday, the 11th of July, the State conducted only 65,000 tests.

However, it is to be noted, even after days of end of the lockdown, the State is witnessing a fall in the COVID-19 cases under the strict surveillance of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government.  The State Police and officials of the TRS Government are leaving no stone unturned to vaccinate people and control the spread of the virus.  In addition, so far 1.20 crore people, received their COVID-19 vaccine doses.  Of the total population 4 % people are fully vaccinated after receiving both the doses.

Till date, with the strict guidelines and tackling of COVID-19 from 20,000 active cases, the State’s active COVID-19 cases reduced to 11,000 in just a month.

With this, Telangana now has 6,31,683 positive cases, of which 10,316 are active cases, 6,17,638 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,729 are deceased cases.

In Telangana, the regions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the highest number of cases with 70 cases.

With this, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 97.77% from the previous 97.66 % recovery rate.  In addition, the fatality rate of COVID-19 remains stable at 0.58 %.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 48 containment zones, there are 35 active containment zones in Telangana.

In addition, the Telangana Director of Health and Public Welfare G. Srinivasa, urged people to take caution and follow all the guidelines of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, also expressed concern over the COVID-19 cases in some districts.  Despite the declining number of the Wuhan virus cases in Telangana, the Telangana Government is worried about districts bordering Andhra Pradesh.  Districts like Nagarjuna Sagar, Miryalaguda, Nakrekal, Suryapet, Khammam, Dornakal, Huzurabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Bellampalli, Godavarikhani, Sircilla and Warangal are showing good number of COVID-19 cases.  In regard to this, the Telangana CM directed the concerned officials to conduct a fever survey and ensure controlling Wuhan virus spread.

The directed three days fever survey by the Telangana Medical Department officials started from the 11th of July, Sunday.
