Mumbai: Music composer Hemant Bhosle, son of an acclaimed singer Asha Bhosle, passed away in Scotland on Monday. He was 66. He had reportedly been fighting cancer for many years.
According to reports, Asha Bhosle is flying to Scotland as she was in Singapore for a program last weekend. Hemant died on Asha’s elder sister Lata Mangeshkar’s 86th birthday. It is heard that the birthday celebrations were called off because of the demise of Hemant.
Earlier, Hemant Bhosle worked as a pilot for few years and then drifted towards music career. He scored tunes to films – “Taxi Taxie” and “Barrister”.
Asha Bhosle lost her daughter Varsha in 2012. Varsha was a singer-journalist and committed suicide three years ago in Mumbai as she was suffering from depression.
