Amitabh Bachchan launches ‘Once Upon A Time In India’ book!

Bollywood’s biggest star Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday launched ‘Once Upon A Time in India- A Century of Indian Cinema’. The book written by film critic and author Bhawana Somaaya is a complete dose of fun, films, and a trip down the history of Indian Cinema.

For any movie buff, who is into Bollywood, each festival can be related to some movie. For example, DDLJ reminds of Karva Chauth, Anthony Gonsalves of Easter and Diwali of K3G and much more. The book discusses the celebration of Indian Cinema, a century of history and fascinating facts about Bollywood and milestones. The book, a year long read has trivia and facts about each date.

These depict some of the favorite film scenes making it a treasure to preserve. The author, Bhawana, has been in the industry for thirty plus years as a film critic. She has contributed to some of the news daily giants like Pioneer, Sunday, Observer, The Hindu and Hindustan Times. She has previously authored twelve books including the biographies of Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan. Bhawana has also served on the advisory panel of the Censor Board of Film Certificate for two terms, one term in 1992 and second in 2012.
