Shah Rukh Khan is back with a masala commercial film that makes you look at him with awe, like the whole industry does! The Badshah of Bollywood dons the role of “Raees” in his new avatar and is out to get your money.
The trailer starts with “Raees” aka Shah Rukh Khan quoting his mother about the bad world of business. The seeming kingpin wants the power in his palms and will do anything to get it. Literally anything. In his own words, ‘Jo dhandhe ke liye sahi woh sahi, Jo dhandhe ke liye galat woh galat.” Set in the rustic backdrop of Gujarat, this trailer has anecdotes in abundance and talent in tonnes. The chemistry of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shah Rukh Khan is fiery. Siddiqui plays the role of an honest and headstrong police officer who has made it his mission to capture the brazen Raees.
The romantic angle comes via the newcomer Mahira Khan who seems to be holding up well against the superstar. They are seen dancing and twirling, lost in their love, mingling with the violence shots of Raees’ other half of life. But there isn’t only one eye candy, behold as the queen of item songs – Sunny Leone – enters the frame, bringing her dazzling persona. Got to say, it makes the whole trailer that much more interesting to watch!
On the technical side, the screen play, editing and music mingle well to form a thrilling setup for the story. Especially the scene where Shah Rukh emerges from the shadowy smoke looking devilishly good, is outstanding. The BGM pumps up the suspense factor and we cannot wait for the film to hit the theatres on January 25th, 2017.
The movie is directed by Rahul Dholakia under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Gauri Khan and Farhan Akhtar. The script has been penned by Rahul Dholakia, Harit Mehta, Ashish Vashi and Niraj Shukla, while the DOP is K.U. Mohanan. Music is given by Ram Sampath and lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
