L.K. Advani loses cool for not running Lok Sabha, blasts speaker

After the Winter session of the parliament started it has been filled with chaos and disruptions by the opposition. The main reason behind this disruptions is the Demonetisation move taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This has been the third week of  disturbances in the parliament. With the increase in the stalling of parliament, the BJP veteran L.K. Advani expressed distress over the way parliament was being conducted and slamming that neither the speaker nor the Minister of Parliamentary affairs was running the session properly.

Advani agitated by disruptions in the parliament and postponements.

Before the house was adjourned for 15 minutes ahead of lunch break, he was heard saying, “Neither the Speaker nor the Parliamentary Affairs Minister is running the House.” An agitated Advani expressed his discontent over how the parliament was being run and complained of the same to the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar. He also expressed his unhappiness when some of the members of opposition crossed to the treasury side benches while raising slogans and disrupting parliament.

Amid slogan shouting by Congress and Trinamool Congress members, Advani said, “I am going to tell the Speaker that she is not running the House. I am going to say it publicly. Both sides are a party to this.” Ananth Kumar was seen pacifying the senior parliamentarian and was also seen pointing the media gallery, apparently consoling that his comments will be reported.

When the house was adjourned, L.K.Advani enquired about when the session will be resumed and when the official said that it would be until 2 P.M., he curtly said, “Why not sine die?” meaning “Why not indefinitely.”
