Hyderabad: With films like “Parched”, “Madly”, “The Calling”, “Badlapur” and others, actor Radhika Apte made a name for herself in the film world. Her choice of roles always stunned the audience and helped her to earn the stardom with ease and charm. Not just in Bollywood, she is also a bankable star in the Telugu film industry after playing romantic lead roles in films “Lion” and “Legend”. Earlier, she witnessed spotlight with her shocking statements on the South films and now once again, she hit headlines with her controversial statements on the same.
In an interview, she said, “I tried to do a few films in the South for whatever reason and then I decided I won’t do them anymore. Then I got a Rajinikanth film. It’s an experience of a lifetime. It’s the first time I acted in a South Indian film where I was treated as an equal by an actor.”
She added, “I sometimes think that it would have made more sense not to do anything than to work in films that are not great. Because you learn to do bad work, you learn to do it easy.”
Radhika said, “In the few films I did and I would be told ‘Maa, sad feeling’ and I would look sad. Then they would say ‘Maa, Shock.’ And they would put the camera on your face only to capture your reactions.”
“There would be nothing happening in front of me. I began to realise that it was a piece of cake. They were calling me a one-take actress. It doesn’t challenge you and you get bored. You learn the easy way out and get used to it,” she added.
