Comedian Mr. Raju Srivastava took his last breath on Wednesday, the 21st of September.
The 58 year old comedian, who won the title of India’s Laughter King, passed away after over 40 days of hospitalisation in Delhi. Raju Srivastav’s demise was confirmed by his brother Dipoo Srivastava, in a Twitter post. Dipoo Srivastava said, “I got a call from the family about half an hour ago saying he is no more. It is really unfortunate news. He was fighting in the hospital for over 40 days.”
According to the sources, the comedian was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi on the 10th of August, amid chest pain, which was a minor heart attack. He was on ventilator support for over a month and was declared dead at 10:20 A.M., on the 21st of September.
Upon hearing the demise of Raju Srivastava, Mr. Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister of India, expressed condolences and tweeted, “Apart from being an accomplished artist, he was also a very lively person. He was also very active in the social field. I extend my condolences to his bereaved family and fans. Shanti!.”
Highlighting the career of Raju Srivastava, he started working in the Television industry in the 1980s. However, Raju Srivastava received fame after participating in the first season of the stand up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. Moreover, Raju Srivastava also played minor roles in Bollywood films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon among others.
