Double Remake For Mani Ratnam’s “Agni Natchathiram”

It is a special art of remaking films! These days, instead of coming up with new plots, the filmmakers are on a spree of remaking movies in Bollywood. Looks like, there is no slowing down of remakes in the Bollywood.

Many successful films of South including “Bangalore Days”, “How Old Are You”, “Drishyam”, “Thuppakki”, “Ready”, “Wanted” and others were remade in different languages and emerged as blockbusters.

Now, another acclaimed director Bejoy Nambiar, who recently won appreciation for “Wazir”, is working on the remake of Mani Ratnam’s super hit film “Agni Natchathiram”. Interestingly, the “Agni Natchathiram” was earlier remade with a title “Vansh” in Bollywood, starring Siddharth Ray and Sudesh Berry in major roles. Now, the new flick will be a double remake for Mani’s movie.

“Agni Natchathiram” emerged as a blockbuster at the box office starring Prabhu, Karthik, Amala, Vijayakumar and Nirosha in lead roles. The complete family entertainer won the hearts with its interesting story line and was also released to Telugu screens as “Gharshana”.

Director Bejoy Nambiar said that he is working on the script and the cast for the film will be announced once he finishes the script. An official announcement is awaited soon.
