Mumbai: After her path breaking performance as Kashibai in her previous blockbuster ‘Bajirao Mastani’ will now be seen as a dynamic cop in ‘Jai Gangaajal’. This film marks the acting debut of director Prakash Jha. Priyanka Chopra launched the trailer along with the entire cast and crew yesterday.
After pulling off the role of Kashibai in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ flawlessly, the actress is back as a police office in Prakash Jha’s ‘Jai Gangaajal’.
This is what that actress said when asked about the movie, “I am brought up in Lucknow and Bareily and an educated girl. Abha is from Bankepur, UP and she is a modern girl as well so to play Abha was easy but the challenge was to be feminine while playing a tough cop at the same time.”
Actress also reveals that ‘Jai Gangaajal’ was her quickest shot film ever, “This film was my quickest film. The total time we had shot is even less than shooting an entire film”, she laughs. ‘I shot the film whenever I got the time between ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Quantico’, she adds.
Written and directed by Prakash Jha, the film revisits the dusty heartland of Central India, and examines the society– police relationship. Starring Priyanka Chopra, the movie is all set to release on 4th March, 2016.
