Karan Johar has finally spoken up in favour of his film, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” that has been the centre of a debate after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena wanted the film banned due to the presence of the Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in it. Speaking out for the first time, Karan Johar through a video message put his Country before self and saluted the Indian army for their valour. The director condemned terrorism and also declared that in the future he wouldn’t work with Pakistani talents given the current circumstances prevailing in India.
He also implored fellow Indians to not undermine the work of many other Indians behind making the movie. Karan expressed his hope of not having to face any problems with his film and repeated that he is a patriot and loves his country above everything else.
The single screen theatre operators have said that they would not screen KJo’s film. MNS activists had later threatened to vandalise multiplexes if Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was screened. MNS leader Amey Khopkar said, “We will oppose the screening of the movie everywhere in the state. If any multiplex operator dares to screen the film, they (operators) should remember that multiplexes are decorated with expensive glass sheets.”
Many celebrities came in support of Karan Johar and slammed the protests against “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.” “Preventing release of film made in compliance with Indian laws is neither fair nor just. We have to follow(d) the law, irrespective of sentiment. Nobody is forcing anyone to watch a film. Let us remain a land where laws govern us, not mobs or sentiments. Let legally made films release,” Chetan Bhagat tweeted.
