TEENAGE GODMEN NABBED BY POLICE!

The easy way to fool people into giving in their precious belongings to you is to pose as “Godmen.”. Two teenage boys thought this would be the best idea to get rich overnight! In Old Perungalathur, two teen “Godmen” decided to walk away with 5 sovereigns of gold belonging to a housewife for the purpose of conducting a pooja to get rid of the evil forces in the house.

Selvakumar and Ramesh, both 19, were caught when they tried to get gold out of another home in the same village. These boys belong to Vellore and they had conducted a pooja in the house of Sivanesan and Kaleeswari on Tuesday.Assets

The boys asked the Kaleeswari to keep the gold ornaments together and tie them in a handkerchief that was given by them. Sivanesan and Kaleeswari were asked to bring pure water for the ‘theertham’. As soon as Kaleeswari fetched water, the two boys sprinkled it in every corner of the house and left charging Rs. 200, for the pooja. The gold was supposed to be kept in the pooja room for a day.

After noticing a change in the knot, Kaleeswari became suspicious after the boys left; she then opened the knots of the handkerchief only to find her ornaments missing. She immediately alerted her neighbours. The Local residents traced the two boys who were trying the same con trick in a house which was just two streets away.

The teenage godmen had changed the handkerchief when the couple went to fetch water and placed another in its place with knots in the same places, the police disclosed.

The two were caught, beaten up and handed over to Peerkankaranai police station. “We are questioning them to verify their background and also trying to find out if they had committed (the) same kind of offence anywhere else,” the police stated.
