Mumbai: “God created this, periods are natural. So, how can we say women are impure during their periods”, asks Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actress attended a event of UNICEF in Lucknow and shared her views about the issues of Menstruation and its hygiene.
Kareena Kapoor also interacted with the Young girls from GARIMA project. Speaking at the event, she broke the silence around menstruation and said, “I’m not here as a star.”
Kareena said, “Have a Happy Period, let’s break the taboo, talk about it.”
She added, “God created this, periods are natural. So, how can we say women are impure during their periods.”
“I’m speaking from the heart today. Seeing so many girls smiling, doing good work has made me happy”, added the actress.
“I’m requesting all parents, all girls, everyone, let’s talk about it and let’s demand for our rights”, said Kareena.
“There is nothing that girls cannot achieve: its my message to all the girls,” she added.
The “Ki And Ka” actress said, “I’d like to see this issue being talked about in the media, on websites, not behind closed doors.”
