Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with his fiancee Mira Rajput on Tuesday. The wedding ceremony was a private affair with only 40-50 people in attendance at a farmhouse on the outskirts of capital.
The wedding traditions took place according to Radha Soami sect, which is philosophical organisation based on the spiritual teachings of all religions. The couple exchanged vows according to it as both the families are followers of the group.
Shahid was seen in a white kurta-pyjama and a turban during the wedding rituals. His bride wore a green and pink salwar-kurta with a dupatta wrapped around her head. An elegant maang-tika, minimal jewellery and make up rounded off her look.
The busy actor in B-Wood arrived in Delhi on Monday night for the Sangeet ceremony. The couple made headlines by dancing to the Bollywood chartbusters at the ceremony.
The new couple attended a lunch with their families after the wedding. Shahid opted a white sherwani designed by Kunal Rawal while Mira looked gorgeous in light pink lehenga. She made heads turn with her beautiful jewellery and minimal make up. The couple looked made for each other when they stepped out hand in hand to pose for the shutterbugs at Trident hotel. The actor also shared a selfie with his wife with caption, “#hitched”.
A lavish dinner was organised on Tuesday night. The couple looked adorable in the night. A grand wedding reception will be organised for B-town friends in Mumbai on July 12. All the stars are expected to attend and shower their blessings on the couple.
