Mumbai: The much-appreciated film of Sonam Kapoor titled “Neerja” managed to enter Rs 50 crore club. The story of national hero, Neerja Bhanot, touched the hearts of the audience and is riding high at the box office with encouraging reviews. Sonam Kapoor starrer “Neerja” tells the story of the brave heart, Neerja Bhanot who lost her life while saving the lives of passengers on the ill-fated Pan Am flight.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took his official Twitter handle and wrote, “#Neerja maintains tight grip. Passes ‘Mon test’ in Week 2 as well: Fri 3.15 cr, Sat 5 cr, Sun 6.65 cr, Mon 2.12 cr. Total: ₹ 52.24 cr. WOW!”
Directed by Ram Madhvani, the “Neerja” also stars Shabana Azmi, Shekhar Ravjiani and Yogendra Tiku in lead roles. Opened to packed houses on February 19, the biopic is running successfully.
