ISIS attacks funeral, over 40 killed in Iraq

Baghdad: According to the Iraqi official’s, a suicide bombing at a funeral in Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala, north of Baghdad has killed at least 40 people and around 50 wounded.
The local officials say a senior local leader of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, was killed in the attack in Muqdadiyah, about 60 miles north of the capital. Security there is largely maintained by satte-sanctined Shiite militias known as the Popular Mobilization Forces.

Hospital officials confirmed the updated toll. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to brief the press. A bombing at a Baghdad market on Sunday by the Islamic State group killed 73 people.

In January, an IS bombing at a cafe frequented by militiamen in Muqdadiyah triggered a wave of revenge attacks on Sunni mosques and civilians.
