Mumbai: The divorce case of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and her estranged husband Sunjay Kapur took an ugly turn. The actress filed a dowry harassment case against Sunjay and his mother, Rani Surinder Kapur. Earlier, this week, she approached the Khar police and complained of mental harassment by her husband and mother-in-law. She alleged that she had been mentally harassed by the Kapurs over a period of time.
The police registered an FIR under the dowry section – 498 (A) (husband or the relatives of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code. Karisma’s lawyer Sanjog S Parab confirmed the same. At present, the divorce case of the couple and the custody of their kids is pending before the Bandra family court.
