Oscars 2016: Academy member says, Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t deserve an Oscar for The Revenant

With just few hours away for the star-studded ceremony of 88th Academy Awards, which will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on February 28, all eyes are on the big question whether Hollywood star Leonardo Di Caprio will win the Oscar or not for his much-appreciated film “The Revenant“. In other words, it is a nerve wracking experience for the fans of the actor, who walked away empty-handed on four such ceremonies before.

Leo

As per a report in leading media house, an Academy member (who hasn’t been named) said, “I dislike The Revenant intensely – it’s a beautifully shot Road Runner movie, in the sense that Leonardo DiCaprio keeps falling down and getting up, and who cares? I don’t.”

Reports stated that the members feel that the performance of Leo was ridiculous and he does not deserve an Oscar and they think that the actor should not be given an Oscar just because the film was hard to make.

Another anonymous voter said, “I rule out Leonardo immediately because it’s a ridiculous performance. They are running his campaign based on how hard it was to make the movie, right? I’m tired of hearing about it – that’s what he gets paid for! I mean, this was not Nanook of the North (a 1922 docu-drama shot in the Arctic), for Christ’s sake. Give me a break. He got millions of dollars, and I would assume they had heaters.”
