Mumbai: An acclaimed singer Hariharan has decided to train the blind girl, Tumpa Kumari, who rose to fame with her singing skills. Recently, a video in which Tumpa sang the song titled “Sun Raha Hai Na” from ‘Aashiqui 2’ went viral on social media. The video also earned a few lakh views and the girl became popular for her musical voice.
The girl’s talent witnessed spot light when a friend of the singer saw the video and suggested Hariharan to watch it. After watching the video, the singer decided to train her. The friend of Hariharan is also a friend to popular chef Sanjeev Kapoor. The mutual friend also informed Sanjeev Kapoor regarding the girl. With this, the chef has decided to fund the training and other expenses of the girl.
The singer said that Tumpa’s voice has a unique quality and it demands attention. He also added that it will compel you to listen to her and all one needs to do is to train her in the technical aspects of singing.
He met girl and on his official Facebook page wrote, “She came all the way from Odissa to meet me. A very good soul..”
