Chennai: The movie makers of the much-hyped flick titled “Puli” landed in hot water! Actress Sridevi has filed a case against the producers of “Puli” as they failed to pay her full remuneration. If reports are to be believed, Sridevi is yet to receive Rs 50 lakh from the movie makers, Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar.
According to reports, the actress was rumoured to have offered Rs 5 crore for the film but the producers still have to pay her Rs 50 lakh. With this, Sridevi filed a complaint at the Mumbai Producers’ Council and then it has been referred to the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council.
“Puli” is a comeback film for Sridevi. It was made at a mammoth budget of Rs 100 crore but the fantasy picture failed to perform well at the box office. The movie was in news when the Income Tax department conducted raids on the team’s offices and residences, a day before the release of the movie. It is heard that the financial dealings and the bank transactions were put on hold. and this is the reason behind the delay in the payment.
However, producer Shibu Thameens, who is in the hospital for a surgery, took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Will clarify Sridevi mam complaint ,postpone my surgery tomorrow nd joining my partner pts in chennai.”
