Srimanthudu continues its dream run on Monday too

Thanks to the blend of mass and class Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu’s latest outing “Srimanthudu” is ringing the cash counters in almost all the screens in which the movie was released.

According to the reports, the movie got a stupendous opening at ticket counters, enabling it to collect about Rs 75 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its first weekend.

“Srimanthudu” is a family entertainer interspersed with all the commercial elements; it was released worldwide on 7 August. It has also been dubbed in Tamil as “Selvandhan” and released along with its original version. The film is one of the most hyped and highly promoted South Indian movies of 2015.

The Koratala Siva-directed film recorded around 70% advance booking a day before its release. In the US, “Srimanthudu” was premiered in 117 halls on Thursday, resulting in a collection of about $532000 from the shows.

Both “Srimanthudu” and “Selvandhan” were released in around 2,500 screens in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and in other parts worldwide on Friday. The makers held benefit shows in several centres in the wee hours of the day. The movie debuted with an overwhelming response everywhere.

The strong word-of-mouth took its business upwards in its regular shows on its opening day. “Srimanthudu” and “Selvandhan” ran to packed houses in most of the cinema halls. They registered an average of 90% occupancy in both single screen halls and multiplexes around the world on the first day.

Both the versions of “Srimanthudu” are estimated to have collected about Rs 30 crore on Friday, Rs 20 crore on Saturday and Rs 25 crore on Sunday. The movie grossed Rs 75 crore at the worldwide box office in its first weekend.

The first Monday, which is considered a litmus test for a film by many, has seen considerable footfall for Srimanthudu. The estimated collections of the film on its Day 4 is somewhere around Rs 9.75 crore, reports Boxofficehits.com. As of now, the India collections of the film stands at a whopping Rs 62.75 crore.(Only in India)
