New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the Unites Arab Emirates on August 16-17. This is the first trip to Gulf nation by an Indian Prime Minister after 34 years.
The Indian community is making arrangements to give a momentous reception to the Prime Minister at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium grounds. The officials are expecting over 40,000 people at the stadium.
Modi will arrive in Adu Dhabi on 16th August and will be visiting Dubai the next day.
Narendra Modi will be the first Indian prime minister to visit the UAE after Indira Gandhi in the year 1981.
The trip is aimed to boost the economic, cultural and social ties between India and Arab country.
Talks are set to focus on trade, investment and security and the Indian diaspora, said sources.
India-UAE trade crossed $59 billion in 2014-15, making the country India’s third largest trading partner after China and the US.
