Janatha Garage Review: Jr NTR brings the Magic Back

The much awaited ‘Janatha Garage’ movie of Jr NTR directed by Koratala Siva hit the screens with much pomp and show today. The multi starrer including Mohan Lal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen is seeing a nonstop flow of viewers into the theatres.

So let’s have a look at what actually clicked and what actually missed in this bilingual flick.

The movie is the story of an IIT graduate student named Anand who is an ardent nature lover. He will go to any lengths to ensure that the greenery of the environment stays green (read thrashing up the bullies). Once he is done with his graduation he settles down to work for is Uncle (Mohan Lal) in his garage named Janatha Garage. Why you may ask? Because it is the place where they fix people. Yes you read it right! Janatha Garage is the repair shop for those corrupted and shady persons who need a bit of fixing. Mohan Lal is their saviour who will, similar to his nephew, go to any lengths to ensure that the people are set on the right track.

The movie also promises the required dose of romance and songs with the entry of the leading ladies – Samantha and Nithya. Whether the triangle love story causes more mayhem than musings, is what we have to find out. But amidst all this, the protagonist discovers that his uncle has a gory past and that he was actually a don in Mumbai who was forced to settle down in Hyderabad due to his enemies. The rest of the story of how Anand avenges his uncle’s enemies and gets his love life in place forms the crux of the film.

Janatha Garage Heroines
Nithya Menen, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal in Janatha Garage

Even though the first half of the movie is a bit dragged out, the second half more than covers up for it. The movie, on the whole, we would say is a decent entertainer which, with its twist and turns, will keep you on the edge. The climax of the film is what brings it all together. Also, it goes without saying that with two beautiful heroines and an item number from the sizzling Kajal Aggarwal, the movie has all the glam quotient needed.

Direction, Screenplay and Story by Koratala Siva played out brilliantly while the music from Devi Sri Prasad was catchy.

We would definitely recommend this one for your weekend watch!
