Imphal: Atleast 10 people were killed and 12 others were injured in a militant attack in Manipur on Thursday. According to police, the ten Army personnel were killed in Chandel district of Manipur during an ambush in the morning. 7 ORs, 1 JCO, 1 SIG constable and 1 ASC driver were killed in the ambush, according to reports.
Twelve others were also injured in the attack. Injured were immediately admitted to a hospital. The police are suspecting that the attack has been carried out by a group of unidentified militants.
According to police, the ambush was carried out at around 8.30 am on the 6 Dogra Convoy, which was on its way from Motul towards Imphal. Further details are still awaited.
