Microsoft recently announced the release date of Windows 10 edition. The latest Windows will release on July 29th, 2015. Microsoft is making sure that its product hits the market strongly. Microsoft has never done more publicity for any other product at this level. They are even offering free upgrades to existing Windows 7 and 8.1 users.

So far so good, but what will you be losing if you upgrade to Windows 10:

  • You will lose Windows media player and Windows 7 desktop  gadgets.
  • There will be no inbuilt Card Game of ‘Hearts’.
  • People should install separate drivers to use floppy disks.
  • A separate playback software is a must if you are  to watch a DVD in your device.
  • Microsoft  has been projecting Cortana as the most exciting feature of Windows 10. But they failed to highlight that it will only be available in the US, UK, China, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain at launch.
  • On the other hand, Windows Hello is being introduced to support the user for various biometric passwords, but that will require an infrared camera for facial recognition, or a supported fingerprint reader.
  • The region-based licenses are necessary Xbox Music and Xbox Video streaming apps.
  • More importantly stalling or postponing your update is not possible for the Home users of Windows 10. Only the Pro and Enterprise edition users can stall their updates.
