Uttar Pradesh: On Tuesday, a 14 year old girl was dragged out of her house by two men in a village in Uttar Pradesh. She was then taken to an empty plot nearby and gang raped.
These two men are identified as 35 year old Yunus and Anees. The local Police has arrested one of the accused while a man hunt is underway for the second accused who fled from the crime scene.
Two men knocked on the door of the house and when the little girl opened the door, they dragged her to an empty plot and took turns to rape her. The victim was watching TV while her mother was sleeping on the terrace. The victim’s father was not at home at that time.
“On hearing the knock, I thought my husband has returned. It was only after my daughter screamed for help that the neighbours woke up and caught Yunus,” the victim’s mother stated.
The locals tried hunting down the other suspect by doing a torch hunt and they swiftly locked Yunus , a wrestler, in a room who was later taken into Police custody the next morning.
Police have registered a FIR under POCSO Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, a search is on for Anees, who works at a slaughterhouse.
