Pakistan: At least nine people were killed and 100 injured in Pakistan when five bogies of a Rawalpindi-bound train derailed in Bolan, Balochistan AFF reported.
The derailed train was travelling from Quetta to the garrison city of Rawalpindi, a local said. The train driver also died in the accident.
Train accidents are a common occurrence in Pakistan, due to poorly maintained tracks and bridges, besides drivers often disregarding speed limits, noted a report in Pakistani website Dunya News.
Five months ago, at least 15 military personnel were killed after a special train carrying troops and military equipment fell from the Chanawan Bridge in the eastern province of Punjab.
