Ilayaraja Arunachalam, a 30 year old Infosys employee was found dead in his office located in Mahindra World City, Chennai.
A Infosys spokesperson said, “One of our employees was found dead in the office building early in the morning on Wednesday. We have identified him but cannot divulge any details since the police are investigating the case.”
An investigating officer said the other employees in Infosys found Ilayaraja in the dormitory and they took him to the General Hospital, Chengalpet. The doctors in the hospital informed them that he had already passed away.
“This is when we got a call saying that an Infosys employee had died. He was found in the dormitory or some sort of a room where employees can take rest. He was not wearing any clothes and there were two bed sheets on him,” said the officer.
The Superintendent of Police, Kancheepuram said that there were no injury marks on the body but a case of suspicious death had been registered. “The post mortem that will be done at Chengelpet General Hospital will reveal more. The police were informed only after he was taken to the hospital,” said SP Santosh Hadimani.
Reports suggest that he went to the office on Monday but did not return home. He had a private cabin in his office.
Also, on January 29, K. Rasila Raju, a 25 year old woman who works in Infosys from Kerala was found dead at the software firm, Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park office in the Hinjawadi area of Pune. Later, the investigation revealed that a security guard had murdered her for scolding him.
