In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister’s Son and his friend met their end in a tragic accident at Jubilee Hills.
22 year old Nishit Narayana, son of P. Narayana was driving home in a Mercedez Benz car at around 3:00 A.M., swerved to avoid a water filled pothole. The car went out of control or slipped and crashed into the Metro rail pillar at Jubilee Hills. The impact was really bad killing him and his friend Raja Ravi Varma.
Sudden rains in the city caused a massive power cut leaving the streets, pitch dark. S. Venkat Reddy, Jubilee Hills Police Inspector reported that Nishit and his friend Raja Ravi had serious injuries. The two were rushed to the Apollo Hospital by locals. The doctors declared the two brought dead.
Nishit had recently taken over the post as Director for Narayana Group of Institutions. The young man was also a part of Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet.
P. Narayana was in London when he heard the news and rushed back to India. Ganta Srinivasa Rao, another minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet also came to Hyderabad from Vishakapatnam.
The city was in complete chaos last night as rains engulfed the city, with hail and thunder. Electric lines were cut and a number of trees got uprooted with the wind. Major areas of the city were flooded and a number of vehicles conked off as well.
GHMC were instructed to deploy emergency teams in different parts of the city by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K.T. Rama Rao.
