Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed Arjuna award-winning archer Jyoti Surekha as Deputy Director in the office of the Director of Protocol Department. The appointment recognizes her outstanding achievements, including her recent medals at the Archery World Championship. Chief Secretary Nirankumar Prasad issued the posting order on Wednesday, marking the completion of her training in NTR district.
In her new role, Jyoti Surekha will initially receive an on-duty facility for a one-year period. This appointment highlights the state’s commitment to honoring athletes who have brought pride to the nation.
Following the announcement, State Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAP) Chairman A. Ravinaidu visited Jyoti Surekha’s residence to personally congratulate her on the new role. Her appointment reflects the government’s efforts to support sports talent and encourage the achievements of accomplished athletes.
