Bomb Threat Emails Lead to Mass Evacuations at Schools in Ahmedabad and Noida
Ahmedabad & Noida, January 23, 2026 — A wave of alarming emails warning of possible bomb attacks triggered widespread panic at several private schools in western Ahmedabad and Noida on Friday, just three days ahead of India’s Republic Day celebrations.

In Ahmedabad, multiple institutions — including well-known schools such as Xavier’s and St. Kabir — reported receiving threatening messages via email early in the morning. School administrators immediately alerted local police, prompting fast responses from the crime branch’s bomb squad and forensic teams, who launched detailed checks of the premises.
In Noida, authorities identified at least three schools—Shiv Nadar School, Bal Bharati School, and Cambridge School—as recipients of the threat emails. Authorities ordered precautionary closures and evacuated students, arranging for buses to take them to pre-designated drop-off points. School managements informed parents through official notices, while police teams, along with bomb disposal and dog squads, carried out thorough security checks and found no explosives.
Local cybercrime units in both cities are currently analysing the origin and credibility of the emailed threats, while police have urged the public and school communities to remain calm and follow verified updates only. Authorities will maintain heightened security measures at educational institutions in the coming days as investigators continue their probe.
