Hyderabad: Newly appointed Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman BR Naidu expressed gratitude to CM Chandrababu Naidu and NDA leaders for his appointment. He criticized the previous government’s alleged mismanagement at Tirumala and emphasized his commitment to restoring order and sanctity in temple operations.
Naidu, who hails from Chittoor district, said the TTD role is a pivotal point in his life, acknowledging the deep spiritual significance Tirumala holds for him. “For the past five years, I avoided visiting Tirumala due to the previous administration’s chaos, though it was a regular part of my life,” he shared. He aims to serve Tirumala ethically, aligning every decision with Hindu traditions and values.
He assured devotees of shorter waiting times, aiming to complete darshan within an hour to alleviate crowd discomfort. Noting past neglect, he highlighted that children in waiting compartments were deprived of milk, a situation now remedied with milk and breakfast provisions.
Naidu also announced plans to dissolve Srivani Trust, reasoning that one main trust suffices. Future initiatives include special committees for temple resources and lands, a return to time-slot darshan, and establishing water plants with free paper cups to relieve devotees of heavy glass bottles.
