Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu criticized the previous YSRCP government for disregarding the sanctity of temples and hurting the sentiments of devotees across Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at the TDP central office, Naidu expressed his commitment to protecting religious traditions and announced several steps his government would take to address issues, particularly surrounding the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Laddu controversy.
Naidu lamented that religious sites, including the famous Ramatheertham temple, faced negligence during the previous regime, citing the removal of Lord Rama’s idol as an example. He accused the YSRCP of ignoring such incidents and engaging in false propaganda against those raising concerns.
Referring to the National Dairy Development Board’s (NDDB) report on the ghee quality used in Tirumala Laddu, Naidu condemned the YSRCP’s attempts to refute the findings, asking how ghee could be procured at unrealistically low prices. He vowed to take strict measures, including consulting religious leaders like Jeer Swamy and Kanchi Swamy, to restore the sanctity of Tirumala.
Naidu also drew parallels between YSRCP’s handling of the Tirumala issue and other controversies, including the Prakasam Barrage and the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy. He compared the YSRCP to notorious criminal Pablo Escobar, accusing the party of engaging in diversionary politics.
The Chief Minister assured that flood relief efforts in Vijayawada are ongoing, and necessary aid is being extended to all affected victims.
