Hyderabad: Chittoor Mayor Ms K Anuradha was killed after being shot on Tuesday in Andhra Pradesh. Some unidentified assailants attacked her and she succumbed to her injuries. Her husband, Mohan was also wounded in the attack. His condition is said to be critical. Both of them were immediately admitted to Vellore Hospital. The reason behind the attack is yet to be investigated.
The assailants fired and then attacked the couple by swords, according to Mr R P Thakur, Additional Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh. He also added that one of them died and other is being treated in the hospital and the team is trying to find out the reason behind the attack.
The incident occurred when the attackers entered into the municipal corporation office and opened fire. As per reports, the assailants are suspected to be from Karnataka. The police launched the investigation and further details are still awaited.
