Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revant Reddy held a comprehensive review of the housing department at the secretariat, where he laid out key directives for the upcoming projects. He emphasized the urgency of forming Indiramma Committees by Dussehra to streamline housing initiatives.

During the meeting, Rajiv, a key advisor, proposed the auction of vacant houses. He suggested that these properties could be allocated to selected beneficiaries as part of the double-bedroom housing scheme, aimed at providing better living conditions for citizens.

In another significant discussion, the Chief Minister met with the Chairman and members of the Backward Classes (BC) Commission to discuss the initiation of the BC Caste Census. BC Commission Chairman Niranjan and his team presented their plans to the CM, who urged them to commence work immediately and ensure a swift completion of the census.

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of conducting a thorough study to determine the measures required for the BC caste census. He recommended that the commission consider visiting other states to evaluate their methodologies and best practices for conducting such a census.

Revant Reddy assured the BC Commission of the government’s full support in facilitating the process, emphasizing the need for a timely and effective implementation of the BC caste census to better address the needs of the backward classes in the state.
